Our nonprofit focus on making the maximum positive effort for our communities. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, the solutions that we provide have proven to assure a long-lasting difference of the affected families.
Nearly everyone wants to live in a safe, affordable, and stable home. Almost no one wants to sleep in a tent or a car or under a bridge or even any of those homeless shelters. Yet, we all know that our communities face a homeless crisis that is made worse by a housing crisis which negatively impacts the quality of life for all of us.
Our programs are an approach to helping homeless, Aged Foster Youth and Veterans who are transitioning from shelters to a new and more permanent place to live. In the past, homeless people who had the disease of addiction were expected to get clean and sober, find a job, or commit to a treatment program before receiving help to find a home. Studies have shown, however, that most people need housing in order to successfully work on their personal improvements. In most cases, a home provides the stability for people to find and keep a job easier, which also allows them to stay sober and take better care of themselves and their neighbors. This typically, results in long-term housing stability and improved physical and behavioral health. Provide housing for homeless not only provides benefit to the homeless individuals and families but also the tax payers.
Our mission is to make sure that our families and individuals have been provided with all the necessities that a person is required to start a new beginning in their new home. We want them to know that there are people out there who care and that they are not alone. We want these people to walk into their new home and feel excited and comfortable.
Our families are ready for change. With courage and hard work, they cultivate critical life skills, break the poverty cycle and graduate to a new life. We help families regain independence together. Like our families, we’re willing to do whatever it takes to break the cycle of poverty. That means effective, efficient operations to ensure more families have the opportunity to achieve stable, sustainable lives. We do this by developing a committed network of individuals, corporations, and community leaders who strive to create a stable environment for people who need a healthy and safe home to raise their families.
These youths are moving from foster care facilities to a home that needs to be furnished and ready to start a new beginning as an adult.
Through the use of donated household items, our volunteers will try their best to get their new place furnished to their taste, so it feels like home.
Study shows that up to 80% of kids in foster care have significant mental health issues, compared to approximately 18-22% of the general population. Left untreated, poor mental health can affect a youth's ability to learn, develop friendships, engage well with community, and can threaten their safety.
Through collaboration with nonprofit professional counselors that are skilled at treating youth mental health issues we provide private, confidential counseling for aged foster youth to receive emotional and goal support.
Your donation allows us to provide home furnishing support and repair services to as many eligible individuals and families as possible.
